Imperfect Morning Routine is the Perfect Morning Routine

I was facing difficulty of been very unproductive and lazy throughout the day. And therefore I thought of adopting a good morning routine as what I think is that first few hours when you wake up decides how your day will go. So I thought of adopting a morning routine at least for a week and see the result.

I didn’t want to strict to timetable of what I will do at a particular time. For Example exercise at 8am, coffee at 8:30am, bathing at 9:00am and so on. The reason is I don’t want to be a robot or be a puppet right when I wake up. I just wanted to set guidelines for my work. For Example Maximum time to sleep is till 8 am, bath will 10 am. Not using phone till you bath. Simple as that.

And in this blog I am not going to give you a morning routine I am just going to give you steps that you can follow and build your own imperfect morning routine.

I watched a video of Matt D’Avella where he talks about why he stopped following a perfect morning routine. He says that the first thing you should do in morning is following your passion it can be working on your dream project, getting fit, blogging in my case. The reason he says so is quite true. It is because we all get too busy throughout the day and when we come home from office, or from school/college we are really tired and we give excuses of doing it tomorrow and that never happens. The second reason is when we do somethings we like to do first thing in the morning we really feel happy about making progress in our dream project or getting fit. This makes a positive impact on us to go throughout the day.

Now let me share you my imperfect morning routine:

Walking up before 8am, not using phone before taking a bath, brushing, having a cup of tea, talking a bath before 10am, working on blog.

That’s it, this is the my simple morning routine. Make your own imperfect morning routine but keep in mind some points:

  1. Have at least 7 hours of sleep, don’t compromise your sleep. Maybe try to sleep little earlier.
  2. Try to take bath first, it is because when you fill fresh you can concentrate properly on your project. Obviously if you want to do exercise you can take bath afterwards.
  3. Don’t do mindful practices like meditation, reading books etc. in the morning just work on your passion it is like meditation only. Just do what makes you feel happy.
